The boys had another great result building off of Thursday’s effort.  They were led by Jared Wells, whose 16:58 placed him 20th on the Frankfort Cross Country All-Time Fastest 5k list.  Jared has now beat every Clinton County runner leading into the County Meet next week.  Also, our team has now beaten every team in the County to give us good momentum towards winning our first County title in a few years.  We fell a little short of beating last year’s SAC runner-up, Crawfordsville, but we were well within striking distance and can beat them on our best day when it matters later in the season.  We also finished ahead of Lafayette Jeff again, and now have beat last year’s 4th and 5th place Sectional teams this week–and last year’s 5th place Regional team.  The top 5 move on in each round of the tournament so we are on the right path to Semi-State if we continue to take care of our process goals in order to reach our outcome and performance goals by the end of the season.

The girls had the best team performance we’ve had in a couple of years.  Almost everyone had a PR or season best, and everyone was at least a minute faster than the last time we were at this course a week and a half ago.  We were close to Rossville and can possibly overtake them at County next week when there are less runners in the race–making the gaps of their top 2 runners over ours less significant.  We have a decent chance at being able to finish in the top 2 at the County Meet.  We have improved a lot already as a team and aren’t done yet so we are definitely capable of it.
