Girls Junior Varsity Soccer, Girls Varsity Soccer · Lady Hot Dog Soccer Wins 1st Game of Season

The Lady Hot Dog Soccer team defeated Logansport on the road 3 – 0 on Tuesday evening.  Freshman, Alejandra Cruz recorded a hat trick scoring all three of Frankfort’s goals.  The first two goals were assisted by Kristyn Webb, as she played beautiful crosses into the box for Cruz.  The Lady Hot Dogs took the 2-0 lead into halftime anchored by a solid defensive effort by Tania Cervantes, Maria Cazares, Britni Silva, and Jessica Alanis.  Cruz scored the final goal on an impressive left-footed shot off a mishit goal kick from the Logansport goalkeeper early in the 2nd half.  FHS Goalkeeper, Sofia Byrd recorded the shutout in her first ever start as goalkeeper.  Lyndsey Isenhower, Anghy Ramos, Melisa Garcia, and Beatriz Balderas helped the Hot Dogs control the midfield and started multiple combination passes that led to great opportunities.  The Lady Hot Dogs are 1-0 on the season and host the Western Panthers on Wednesday at 5:30.  Come out and support the Lady Hot Dog Soccer Team!

The JV team played only 10 minutes due to lightning.  Freshman Yadira Perez scored the only goal of the shortened game.  The JV team dominated the 10 minutes with great passing and positive communication.  The JV team will play Crawfordsville on August 27th following the varsity game.
