Girls Junior Varsity Soccer, Girls Varsity Soccer · Lady Hot Dog Soccer wins 5-1


After over an hour delay for lightning, the Lady Hot Dog Soccer team remained strong Monday night defeating Eastern by a score of 5-1.  Freshman, Anghy Ramos led the team with 3 assists starting with a great pass to Kristyn Webb who scored her 1st goal of the season.  Senior goalkeeper, Sofia Byrd made a huge save on a penalty kick to keep the Lady Comets scoreless early in the 1st half.  Webb scored a 2nd goal off a pass from fellow senior Lynsey Isenhower.  Isenhower scored the goal of the game later in the 1st half when she made an amazing header off a Ramos corner kick.  A freshman connection ended the scoring in the 1st half as Flor Lopez played a great ball to Alejandra Cruz to help the Dogs take a 4-0 lead into halftime.  Webb completed her hat trick early in the 2nd half scoring off another great pass from Ramos.  The Dogs starting defense continued its dominance not allowing a goal during their play on the field.   The Lady Hot Dogs conceded a goal late in the game relinquishing the shutout.  Every Lady Hot Dog player was able to play in the game and many gained valuable experience that will be needed throughout the season.  The 3-0 Hot Dogs host their first conference game of the season as they take on Crawfordsville on Wednesday night at 5:30 PM.  The Varsity will play 1st followed by a JV half.
