On Tuesday evening, the Lady Hot Dogs were defeated by conference foe Southmont 1-0 at Southmont. The Lady Hot Dogs outshot the Mounties 17-13, but were unable to find the back of the net. Coach Hines was proud of the way the lady Hot Dogs performed throughout the game. The girls produced multiple great scoring opportunities throughout the game. Defensively, the girls won most 50-50 balls and contested almost every shot on goal. Sophomores Anghy Ramos and Jessica Carapia played their best game of the year controlling the midfield along with Flor Lopez and Beatriz Balderas. Marisol Cervantes played a great game defensively for her first start in a varsity game. Southmont scored the winning goal with 29 minutes remaining in the game a few minutes after an injury to Ramos that stopped the game for approximately 15 minutes. The Lady Hot Dogs are now 3-4-1 on the season and 0-2 in conference play. They host Faith Christian on Thursday at 5:30 PM.
