Girls Junior Varsity Soccer, Girls Varsity Soccer · Hot Dogs win 4 – 1


The Lady Hot Dog soccer team earned its first conference win of the season defeating North Montgomery 4 – 1. The Hot Dogs scored three goals in the final seven minutes of the 1st half to take a 3 – 0 lead into halftime. Alejandra Cruz scored off a pass from Yadira Perez with 7:04 remaining in the 1st half to take the lead. Emily Kelly scored the 2nd goal off a great pass from Flor Lopez with 1:45 remaining in the 1st half. The final goal of the half came off another shot from Kelly with 9 seconds remaining. The Lady Hot Dogs conceded the only goal for the Chargers 3 minutes into the 2nd half. However, the Dogs never looked back tallying their final goal from Lopez off a pass from Senior Captain Beatriz Balderas. Jenny Lopez and Noemi Guijosa anchored the defense tonight playing a great game. The Lady Hot Dogs are now 5-5-1 on the season and 1-2 in the Sagamore Conference. The Dogs battle the Lebanon Tigers next Wednesday at 5:30 PM at Lebanon.

The JV team lost 1 – 0 after the game was shortened due to lack of light. Thaiz Mejia, Selena Santos Regalado, Tania Lopez, and Judith Ortiz-Sanchez played well for the Dogs. The JV team will travel to Lebanon on Saturday for a four team tournament. They play Danville at 9 AM and will play their 2nd game at 12 PM.
