Girls Junior Varsity Soccer, Girls Varsity Soccer · Lady Hot Dogs lose 1 – 5


The Lady Hot Dogs lost to the Sagamore Conference Champion Tri-West Bruins on Saturday morning, 1 – 5 at Tri-West. The Lady Hot Dogs held the Bruins scoreless through the first 25 minutes of the game. However, defensive errors allowed for the Bruins first goal and they never turned back. The Bruins took a 2-0 lead into half time and scored a quick 3rd goal one minute into the 2nd half. The Bruins added a 4th and 5th goal within a minute of each other with 16 minutes remaining in the game. Freshman, Nallely Alanis scored her first career varsity goal with 4 minutes remaining in the game to ruin the shutout for the Bruins. Alejandra Cruz and Flor Lopez played well creating multiple opportunities to score, but the Lady Hot Dogs were unable to find the back of the net. Jessica Munoz played her best game of the year defensively, holding their career leading goal scorer to a single goal on the day. The Lady Hot Dogs are now 5-7-1 on the season and 1-4 in the conference. The Lady Hot Dogs host Western Boone on Monday night following the JV game at approximately 7 PM.

The JV team defeated Tri-West 1-0 on Saturday in a half game. Sophomore Judith Ortiz-Sanchez scored the lone Hot Dog goal off a great shot from 20 yards out. Tania Lopez played her best game of the year along with Alma Garcia and Kamryn Dehn. The JV team play Western Boone on Monday at 5:30 PM.
