Girls Junior Varsity Soccer, Girls Varsity Soccer · Lady Hot Dogs lose 0-2


On Monday night, the Lady Hot Dogs lost a close one to Western Boone 0 – 2. The Dogs gave up a goal halfway through the 1st half to take a 0-1 deficit into halftime. Sophomore Goalkeeper, Noemi Guijosa played a fantastic game making big saves to keep the game close. Jenny Lopez, Yesi Alanis, Marisol Cervantes, & Jessica Munoz anchored the defense and held a strong WeBo team relatively silent throughout the rest of the game. With 5 minutes remaining and the game still 0 – 1, the official called a hand ball in the box on Western Boone. The Lady Hot Dogs couldn’t find the back of the net with the penalty and ended up giving up the 2nd goal to the Stars with 24 seconds remaining in the game. The Lady Hot Dogs are now 5-8-1 on the season and 1-5 in the conference. The final game of the regular season and senior night is Wednesday night against Danville following a JV half.

The JV team was defeated 4-0 by the Stars. Beatriz Tovar stepped into the goal keeping position after an injury and played well. Tania Valdez-Sandoval played well in the midfield and Vanessa Santos had her best game of the year. The JV team plays in a four-team tourney at Lebanon on Tuesday night and ends their season on Wednesday at home versus Danville.
