Multiple Teams · Volleyball Defeats North Montgomery


The volleyball team traveled to North Montgomery on Tuesday evening to face the Chargers on their senior night. Both teams came out battling in game one, keeping the score within a point or two of each other until a Hot Dog service run finished them off 25-19. After a dominant game two win (25-13) for FHS, North Montgomery came charging back and took game three, showing that the match would not end without a fight. In game four, Casey Robertson tallied 8 kills for the team to put away the match, 25-22. The team reached a season best hitting percentage with .275 and also served the ball well with 9 aces to bring home the win. Frankfort is now 3-3 in the SAC and will face Tri-Central at home on Thursday. The JV team continues to be plagued by injury and illness. They showed marked improvement from game one to game two against North Montgomery as they adjusted to a new lineup. Playing well for the team was Katy Benefiel with 8 digs, 3 kills, and 2 assists. Jenna Rockhold had 7 digs, a kill, and an ace; Katherine Barrera had 4 digs and 2 assists; and Tori Hopkins was 7/7 serving with 2 digs. Yazmin Hernandez also stepped into some big shoes and had 4 kills, an ace, and 7 digs.
