Even though Frankfort Hot Dogs Varsity gave up four runs in the seventh inning, it still defeated Tri-West Hendricks 10-7 on Tuesday. The big inning for Tri-West Hendricks came thanks to a single by Hailee Gifford and a double by Sara McCoskey.

Both offenses were strong at the plate as Frankfort Hot Dogs Varsity collected 18 hits and Tri-West Hendricks 13

Tri-West Hendricks captured the lead in the first inning. Kenna Ross grounded out, scoring one run.

After Frankfort Hot Dogs Varsity scored one run in the top of the second, Tri-West Hendricks answered with one of their own. Frankfort Hot Dogs Varsity scored when Morgan Dean doubled off of Emma Meyer, driving in one run. Tri-West Hendricks then answered when Lewisgrounded out, scoring one run.

Frankfort Hot Dogs Varsity took the lead for good with five runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Casey Robertson hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run, Samantha Melton doubled off of Meyer, driving in two runs, and there was an error, scoring one run.

Tri-West Hendricks scored four runs in the seventh inning. Tri-West Hendricks’s big inning was driven by a single by Hailee Gifford and a double by Sara McCoskey.

Avery Drew earned the win for Frankfort Hot Dogs Varsity. She tossed seven innings, surrendering seven runs, 13 hits, and striking out one. Meyer took the loss for Tri-West Hendricks. She went four innings, allowing six runs, 12 hits, striking out one, and walking one.

Carson Hackerd, Drew, Kyree Shelley, Jenna Rockhold, Melton, Chloe Roberts, and Cassi Cervantes each collected multiple hits for Frankfort Hot Dogs Varsity. Drew and Hackerd each managed three hits to lead Frankfort Hot Dogs Varsity. Frankfort Hot Dogs Varsity was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Robertson had the most chances in the field with ten.

Morgan Forrest, Gifford, Ross, and McCoskey each collected multiple hits for Tri-West Hendricks.
