Girls Junior Varsity Soccer, Girls Varsity Soccer · Girl’s Soccer Shows Experience

On Monday night the Lady Hot Dog soccer team traveled Greentown to take on the Eastern Comets. The Hot Dogs came out ready to play with Yadira Lopez scoring the first goal 7 minutes into the game. After that goal, the Hot Dogs wouldn’t look back as they showed their experience against a young Comet team. After a great combination of a cross and header from Jessica Carapia to Flor Lopez the lead was extended to 2-0. Yesi Alanis finished up the first half scoring with a goal. This whole time the Hot Dog defense did a great job of making sure whenever the Comets got into the offensive third they didn’t get a quality shot with Noemi Guijosa only having to make 1 save. The half-time score was 3-0.

In the second half, the  Lady Hot Dogs showed their experience by continuing to dominate possession and finding the back of the net 8 more times. Which lead to a final score of 11-0.  Finding the back of the net during the second half were: Nallely Alanis 2 times, Liz Sandoval, Judith Ortiz-Sanchez, Carolyne Morales all with a single goal. While Flor and Yesi added their second goals of the night.

The shutout almost ended with a series of defensive miscues late leading to 3 PKs for the Comets.

Next game is Wednesday as the Lady Hot Dogs open Sagamore Conference play at Crawfordsville.
