Girls Junior Varsity Soccer, Girls Varsity Soccer · Lady Hot Dogs Drop a Tight One

The Lady Hot Dogs traveled to Northwestern last night to take on the Tigers in a varsity/JV double header. The JV kicked off the night with a thrilling last second win with both goals scored by Carolyne Morales.

The varsity game was thrilling if you like really good technical soccer. Both teams passed and possessed the ball really well and couldn’t capitalize on their limited opportunities in the offensive ends. The half-time score was 0-0 with not many real threats by either team.

The Lady Hot Dogs came out in the second half and tried to capitalize with some speed but the Tigers defense matched it and turned away the few early chance the Lady Dogs had. The Tigers finally managed to break through with a goal, scoring with 22 minutes left in the game. The Lady Dogs had a few quality attempts after that but once again on a cold night couldn’t find the back of the net. The Tigers then managed another goal to push the lead to 2-0 with about 10 minutes left to play. The final score was wider than how the game played out.

The loss drops the Lady Hot Dogs to 5-2 on the year. The next game is after the 3-day weekend when they travel to Southmont for the 2nd conference game of the year.
