Girls Junior Varsity Soccer, Girls Varsity Soccer · Lady Hot Dogs Shutout Eagles

On Thursday night the Lady Hot Dogs took on the Faith Christian Eagles. The Lady Hot Dogs took advantage early and played aggressively from the start taking several shots in the first couple of minutes against a tightly packed defense. The Dogs broke through on their third shot when Alejandra Hernandez Cruz passed to Nallely Alanis to get the Dogs on the board 7 minutes into the game.

Although the Lady Dogs had several more chances to score they were stopped by the Faith Christian goalie. The Dogs managed to add a 2nd goal 11 minutes before half-time when Yesi Alanis played a through ball to Flor Lopez who found the back of the net. Going into the break the Dogs lead 2-0.

The 2nd half started off with a similar pace to the 1st with the Lady Dogs getting off several shots early and then finding the back of the net for a 3rd goal when Emily Kelly managed to get a quick touch on a ball that the Faith Christian goalie came out to corral.

After the 3rd goal, the Lady Dogs didn’t let up and found the back of the net 2 more times. Another by Nallely Alanis and the final goal when Rylee Seibert scored off an Annie Giebel assist.

The final score was 5-0 which put the Dogs back in the win column after back to back losses. It was also the 5th shutout for the defense on the season. Frankfort’s goalie Ely Cruz didn’t have to make a save with the way her defensive line and herself played in the defensive third of the field.

The win takes the Lady Hot Dogs to 6-3 on the season. Next up for the Hot Dogs is West Lafayette next Tuesday.

While the varsity team was in action at home, the JV girl’s traveled to Hamilton Heights since Faith Christian doesn’t field a JV squad. The JV girls played with great effort but ended up falling to the Huskies 4-0.
