The boys finished in the top third of the results, which is where we figured we should be even before the race. We mainly just wanted to gain experience on our Semi-State course, and we ran pretty well considering none of them have ever seen this course before. Jared did a great job leading the team once again, being only 10 seconds away from his best time on a hot day. All of our freshman and sophomores will race together in the frosh/soph race at Culver with our remaining runners running in the varsity race next weekend. It will be our last practice race before the SAC Meet.
Girls Team–21st place out of 31 teams
Top runner–Cristina Espidio 105th place 24:10
Other scoring top 5 runners–Diana Mora 120th 25:09, Karleigh Bessler 131st 26:00, Lizzie Rhoda 141st 26:28, Paichens Chamberlain 171st 31:45
We did as well as we could while missing our top runner due to injury. The important thing like for the boys was to gain experience on this course. Hopefully, we’ll be at full strength next weekend to prepare one last time to race well leading into the SAC Meet.
