Saturday the Frankfort Hot Dogs faced the Lebanon Tigers in the sectional finals. On a very windy day, the Lebanon Tigers took the lead with the first goal of the match when Frankfort senior keeper Erick Guardado could not hold onto a strong Lebanon shot and the rebound shot went just outside of his grasp. Frankfort would equalize though with a goal late in the first half from senior Humberto Aguilar that was assisted by freshman Rudolfo Garcia-Cruz. Junior Rogelio Angeles scored the only goal of the second half to give Frankfort the championship 2 to 1. This is Frankfort’s second sectional championship in program history and first in 17 years. The boys soccer players and coaching staff would like to thank the fans that showed up to support them through all three of their sectional games and for the strong showing of Hot Dog pride in the championship game. The Hot Dogs will travel to the Greensburg Regional this Saturday at 10am to battle Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter. Winner advances to the 7pm Championship Game to face the winner of Heron and Batesville.
