This past Saturday, the FHS Competition Cheer Squad competed in the High School Time Out Division at the Indiana Cheer Championship State Finals. There were 23 schools competing for a title in the Time Out Division. Each squad is judged on their one minute and fifteen second time out. They are judged in the categories of routine design, communication, visual, performance/showmanship and overall impression. Frankfort finished in 12th place out of 23 teams. Only 9 points separated them from 6th place in this division so the competition was tight. There were several large schools in the Time Out Division with Carmel taking first place, followed by New Castle in second place and North Central in third place. Frankfort finished ahead of teams from Pike, Lawrence North, East Noble, Martinsville, Greenfield Central, Churubusco, South Side and Northeast Dubois to name a few.
The coaches are very proud of the hard work of the squad and look forward to using their timeout during the Boys/Girls Basketball season. Members of the Competition squad are Freshmen Karina Castaneda, Anna Drew, and Brinzlee Sallee, Sophomores Lily Cervantez, Madi Myers, Mallory Woods, and Escarlet Zuniga. Juniors Aubrie Field, Italia Hernandez, Alyssa Kelly, Emilly Morales, Ella Myers and Paige Terry. Seniors Tara Chandler, Allison Creasy, Emily Kelly, Thaiz Mejia, and Connie Tovar.
