Boys Junior Varsity Baseball · JV Baseball Drops 2 to Start Season

JV Baseball fell to visiting Sheridan last night in what turned into a slugfest. Making his first start was freshmen Adrick Mounts who despite a shaky first inning managed to settle in and keep the Hot Dogs in play for 3 innings of work notching 4 strikeouts. Following that up was Benito Lopez & Hugo Alanis. In Benito’s one inning of work, he managed to get 3 strikeouts but the defense missed some routine plays and allowed the Blackhawks to grab the lead. Hugo finished the game and also managed to pick up 3 strikeouts in almost two innings of work.
At the plate, the Hot Dogs came alive, which was in stark contrast to Friday nights freezing cold loss to Rossville. Leading the Hot Dogs was Eduardo Valdez who clubbed 3 doubles, scored 3 runs and added 2 RBIs. Not to be outdone was Cole Wills and Hugo Alanis with 2 hits each.
