Here are the results from the Lady Hot Dogs tennis victory Friday over the Carroll Cougars at Frankfort.
With the team victory, the Lady Hot Dogs now have a season record of 12-3. In match play, Emily Michael fought back from a 4-6 first set loss to overpower her opponent, winning the next two sets: 6-2, 6-1 at #1 singles.
Riley Isgrigg, at #2 singles, defeated her opponent easily with a 6-4, 6-2 victory by serving very well and controlling the pace of her match.
At #3 singles, Madison Toney lost a very close match that could’ve either way. Maddie played very well. The first set (6-7)was decided in a tiebreaker (5-7) while the second went 5-7.
At #1 doubles, Abby Pierce/Jalynn Kidwell played smart doubles by serving well and earned a 6-0, 6-2 win.
Lucy Calvert and Rylee Seibert completely dominated their opponents with a 6-1, 6-1 victory. Both played very well and controlled the net. The outcome was never in doubt.
In Reserve Varsity play, Rebeca Perez won her match 8-4 with good ground strokes and net play. A great job by Rebeca.
Ashlyn Harshbarger used her impressive backhand to move her opponent around like a puppet on a string and earned a 8-4 victory.
Maddie Swinford won 8-2 by serving well and putting a lot of pressure on her opponent. This was a good win for Maddie, who is improving every match.
In doubles, Karely Santos and Raelyn Mitchell played very well and didn’t allow their opponents a single game, winning 8-0. Karely and Raelyn have a bright future with the team, as they’re both freshman and have 3 more years of tennis.
In summary, a big victory over Carroll and our next match is Monday at home vs. Danville. Hope to see a nice crowd come out to cheer on the Lady Hot Dogs!
