Frankfort Hot Dog Softball participated in the County Tournament on Friday evening at Clinton Prairie High School. The Dogs faced Rossville in the first game, falling 0-4 to the Hornets. Despite striking out eight Hornets, Avery Drew took the loss, allowing five hits and four runs in six innings. At the plate, the Dogs could not get things started. Leading the Dogs was Katie Roberts and Kimee Kingma, each with one hit.
In the second game of the evening, the Dogs picked up the win against Clinton Central, 8-4, in six innings due to darkness. The Dogs were able to collect nine hits against the Bulldogs. Kylie Norman and Chloe Roberts lead the Dogs, each two –for-three. Morgan Dean was two-for-four and Kimee Kingma, Avery Drew, and Karleigh Bessler each had one hit. Makayla Harper picked up the win, pitching two innings, allowing four hits and striking out two. Avery Drew pitched four innings in relief, allowing only one hit, zero runs and striking out five.
Both the Varsity and JV teams are in action Monday night at Tri-West. They will host Tri-West on Tuesday evening for Hot Dog Softball Senior Night with presentation around 5:15 pm.
