Boys Varsity Cross Country, Girls Varsity Cross Country · Harrison 9-Way Meet Results


The cross country team competed at the Harrison 9-Way Meet and both teams finished 5th out of 9 teams. The girls lost to state-ranked Noblesville and West Lafayette along with Harrison and Benton Central while defeated Lafayette Jeff, Covington, Southmont, and Attica. The boys lost to state-ranked Noblesville and West Lafayette along with Harrison and Lafayette Jeff while defeating Benton Central, Covington, Southmont, and Attica. Both teams are now 1-0 vs SAC teams.

The girls had 3 top 20 times in FHS history with Carina Alanis moving up to the 14th best time with a 22:21 PR (17th place), Blazia Sallee not improving on her current top 20 best time but still running a season best 22:46 (24th), and Christina Espidio moving up to the 19th best time with a 23:16 PR (27th).

The boys were led by Hugo Hernandez once again, who started as far back as 15th place before moving all the way up to 4th with 1000 meters to go. He finished 6th place overall with a new lifetime best PR of 17:27. Other top finishers include 24th place Kevin Espinoza with an 18:34 and a new PR by Josue Bautista in 29th with a time of 18:54.

Both teams will race at the Danville Hokum Karem on Saturday.
