Case Arena attracted a great crowd on Monday evening to honor seniors Avery Drew, Riley Isgrigg, Kimee Kingma, Emily Michael, and Jenna Rockhold and to finish out the regular season against SAC opponent, Southmont. The team was victorious in a four game battle that ended with a Kimee Kingma kill, bringing the team to 19-11 on the season and finishing in a three-way tie for third place in the conference. Leading the way for the team was Riley Isgrigg bringing in 37 assists and 5 kills. Kimee Kingma had 15 kills and 2 blocks, while Avery Drew added 27 digs. Emily Michael had 9 kills, and Jenna Rockhold had 8 digs. Ashley Timmons had a personal best of 4 solo blocks against Southmont’s leading hitter, Lexi Nelson. Ashley also added 11 kills and 25 digs. Chloe Roberts was also strong defensively with 3 blocks and 8 digs, while Allyson Timmons had 3 blocks and Lindsey Gay added 8 digs and an ace. The team travels to Western for sectional action on Thursday against Northwestern for the second match of the evening.
The JV finished their season with a great win, 2-1. Morgan Adamson had 19 assists, Kylie Norman had 5 kills, and Tarah Martinez had 4 kills. Bella Colby was huge at the net with 7 kills, while Yazmin Hernandez had 7 digs and an ace. Sydni Whitaker added 5 kills and 4 digs, while Mallory Martin added a kill. Grace Campbell had 4 digs. The coaches want to convey how proud they are of this JV team as they have finished the season strong with many tough wins and gaining so much together as a team.
