Monday night the Frankfort Hot Dogs boys soccer team hosted the Western Boone Stars in a rescheduled conference game from earlier this season. The Hot Dogs controlled the match from the start and scored first nearly half way through the first half when senior Brian Chavez scored off of a pass from junior Rudy Garcia. Senior Leo Mejia would score next from a pass from Brian Chavez. Senior Chris Hernandez scored next scored on a through ball from Leo Mejia. Brian Chavez scored the next two goals for the Hot Dogs with senior Salvador Pena-Garcia assisting on one of them. The Hot Dogs took a 5-0 lead into halftime. The second half saw Frankfort continue to control much of the match and senior Christian Matias scored first in the second half capping off an excellent counter strike run by the Frankfort. Sophomore Yobi Trenado scored next off an assist from senior Daniel Mejia. The final score of the night was netted by sophomore Avi Hernandez when he scored off a rebound shot from Rudy Garcia that hit the post and bounced back into play. Frankfort is now 5-2 on the season and 2-0 in conference play. Frankfort plays Tuesday night as the host conference rival Lebanon at 5:30.
The Frankfort boys junior varsity soccer team defeated Western Boone Monday night 5-1. Solid play by everyone contributed to the win. Sophomore Huriel Sandoval Cruz scored a hat trick on the night. Junior Manny Morales scored the other two goals for the Hot Dogs and also had an assist on the night. The junior varsity team is now 1-1-1 on the season and will play after the varsity game against Lebanon.
