Multiple Teams · FMS Athletics 9/10 and 9/11

The past two nights have been very busy for the athletes at Frankfort Middle school.


On Tuesday night 6th grade and 8th grade volleyball held their home openers.  The 6th graders opened the night against Northridge where both the A and B teams were defeated.  The 8th grade hosted Southmont where they were also defeated in the A and B games.  The 7th grade volleyball team traveled to Southmont for their season opener where the Mounties won both the A and B matches.

The football teams, on Tuesday night, also held their home opener against the Southmont Mounties.  The 7th grade fell to Southmont in the opening game.  Johnathan Bautista ran for over 225 yards with 1 TD against.  Rachel Garcia ran for 80 yards. Jordan Goodnight threw for 20 yards in the game and made a huge impact on defense.  As a whole the 7th grade improved from the previous week.

The 8th grade also fell to Southmont, but made great strides and showed improvement from the week before. Doug Wood threw for 200 yards with a 1 TD throwing and 1 running TD.  Peyton Pyle caught his first TD in his middle school career.  Garek Birge returned a kickoff for 62 yard for the TD.


Last night in Hot Dog action, the boys tennis team traveled to Northridge where they fought hard in a 1 – 4 loss.  Fransisco Lopez and Izael Meza won 8-1 at number 2 doubles.
The 6th grade volleyball team traveled to Western Boone last night where great improvement was shown over the previous night.  Both the A and B teams fell to the Berries of Western Boone.
In soccer action from last night,  The lady Hot Dogs fell to Lebanon 0 – 1  in a very hard fought match.  The boys team finished the night strong by defeating the Tigers 5 – 1.  MVPs for the boys were Ian Cruz and Alex Flores.
