The Dogs got a huge win at North Montgomery this week to move to 4-4 on the season. This was our first win over the Chargers in 11 years. It took a total team effort to overcome a North Mont team that was previously ranked in the state.
Sam Michael had a big night throwing the ball, completing 10 passes for 105 yards. Riley Goodnight added 91 yards on the ground with a touchdown and both of our two point conversions. Kyle Earl led the receivers with 7 catches for 63 yards and Jade Ayers added in 3 catches for 42 yards. The offensive line did an outstanding job holding up against North Montgomery’s relentless blitzing.
The defense was led by Ethan Cook with 17 total tackles. Gabe Chavez and Vlad Carreras Lantigua each contributed 16 tackles. Wyatt Chriswell was also in on 16 tackles in his first varsity start. Ramsey Mitchell added 9 tackles and scored his second defensive touchdown of the season on an interception that tied the game. The secondary of Reece Mitchell, Ramsey Mitchell, Bryce McDonald, Ivan Duarte, and Andric Mullinax were crucial with their tremendous pass coverage to stop North Mont’s final drive to preserve the lead.
