On Saturday afternoon, the lady hot dogs traveled to North Montgomery for their first Sagamore Conference game. A great start to the game in the first quarter propelled the hot dogs a win with the final being 38-27. A combination of great defense and some solid offense efficiency allowed the hot dogs to jump out to a 18-6 lead after one quarter. There were five different players that scored in that opening quarter to set the tone for a dominant game. Kimee Kingma totaled a game high ten points, while Rylee Seibert and Emily Michael had 9 respectively. The combination of Kya King, Lindsey Gay, and Nallely Alanis putting in work on the offensive end helped in a huge way for confidence. With the win, our record improves to 3-6 and 1-0 in conf play. We will play host to Faith Christian on Tuesday night with the jv tip at 6pm.
In the jv game on Saturday, a slow start continues to plague the girls ability to get wins. There is a lot to be hopeful for with this group and their ability to work their way back into games. Their effort fell just one point short with a loss of 26-27 to North Montgomery. Ingrid Valdes had 8 points and Sydney Cesare had 6 points in the losing effort.
