Thursday night the Hot Dogs traveled to Southmont for a conference match-up. The first half was a back and forth battle. A very hard fought first half made for an exciting ending but the dogs fell just short and the comeback in the second half. Foul trouble plagued the hot dogs from the start of the game. The third quarter was the difference maker with 3 players having to sit an extended amount of time because of picking up fouls. Lindsey Gay and Emily Michael played the entire game and gave great effort along with the whole team. Poor free throw shooting did not help the situation as well. The dogs attacked the basket all night and had great success on offense but fell short on converting from the free throw line.
In the JV contest, the hot dogs fell just short as well 34-25. A great second quarter on offense pushed the hot dogs into half time with the lead. Cold shooting in the second half doomed the hot dogs from securing the win. Jessi Ramos led the way with 9 points and Sydeny Cesare had 7.
